A letter from Etain and Geldamar

Greetings to the Populous of Nottinghill Coill!

Lord Geldamar and I would like to express our gratitude to Their Majesties and the populous of Nottinghill Coill for choosing us as the next Baron and Baroness. We will do everything in our power to prove worthy of your confidence.

We will be planning to choose Champions at Baronial Birthday. Those interested in representing their discipline in this fashion may send us their letter of interest anytime before the event. We would like to make sure that anyone interested in being a Baronial Champion is aware that this is not simply a title, but a working position. We will expect our Champions to help us represent the Barony, encourage all who are interested in their discipline, and help organize practices and teaching.

At Baronial Birthday, we would like to challenge all of the Barony:

• In the area of Arts and Sciences, we would encourage all artisans to bring an example of their work for the open display, no matter your experience level or if it is a project that you have entered in the past. This will be an opportunity for our new Baronial Arts and Sciences Officer to see the work of the Barony, and a chance to impress visitors to our group with the skills and talents of our populous.
• For the marshal activities, we would encourage Armored and Rapier fighters to use their time before or after the tourneys to work on small group melee tactics. This is an area that will showcase our strength and readiness for battle.
• Our target archers are strong, and we have seen an increase in youth archers in the past few years. To that end, we will plan to choose a youth Archery Champion as well as an adult. We would like to encourage and nurture the youth of the Barony.
• We would like to choose an Equestrian Champion, but would prefer to do so at a later event that has equestrian activities.

Thank you for your support as we come into this office. Our predecessors have been wonderful role models, and we will strive to continue their good and honorable works within the Barony.
